I live and work in the north west of England close to the
West Pennine Moors, but remain endlessly captivated by
the north-east coastline and Northumberland. Time spent in
Cornwall, Scotland as well as Eire have also left a deep
impression and love of wild places, landscape and the sea.
In my work I aim to capture and explore a visceral, living
landscape and to express the euphoria of coming to the sea
from an inland environment.
Through 2011 I have been working on a landscape series
and exhibited work from this series at the Turnpike Gallery
in Leigh, and more recently at the Bolton Open. I have also
exhibited this year as part of Open Up North in Kendal.
I mainly work in acrylics, but also use oil pastel, watercolour
paint and pencil to produce mixed-media images on canvas or
board.
